Gallery Image We made several railroad layouts from K'nex, including simple designs and more complicated ones with bridges, switches and crossovers. A variety of rolling stock was created from K'nex pieces to run on these layouts. A self-propelled hopper car as well as longer trains with separate engines were built. Many of these designs came in handy to transfer parts when building layouts and other projects.

Here is a simple oval K'nex track made from yellow connectors and green rods. Some green rods are disconnected from the connectors to form curves in the track. Ties are made from yellow rods, with a dark grey connector at one side or the other to maintain proper spacing between the rails.
