Monorail
Our design for a K'nex monorail uses the same idea of horizontally-opposed
rubber-tired wheels as is used on actual monorails such as the ones in
Disneyland and Disney World. Dual tires keep the monorail on top of a narrow,
bendable track created from a continuous sequence of yellow connectors and green
rods. Bracing at right angles to the track is used to hold curvature. Pairs of
yellow rods allow a flexible linkage between separate monorail "cars" as they
negotiate the curved track.
Further work could involve the addition of car bodies over the monorail chassis
and possibly motorization.
