Grizzly River Run

The Grizzly River Run layout with basic channels completed (scroll down). The prototype raft channel design is based on that used in the K'nex Big Ball Factory. Flexible angles were necessary in the river-rapids section that descends from Grizzly Peak. Attempts to make the balls more raft-like by enclosing them inside a ring of pieces were unsuccessful, as were various attempts at wheeled raft designs. These designs tended to get stuck in the channels and offered less freedom of movement than using just the balls themselves. The area in the back of the layout is where the ride path passes through and around Grizzly Peak, the bear-shaped mountain.
